Actress Doreen Sloane played the part of Annabelle Collins in Channel 4 soap opera Brookside from 1982-90.
Annabelle was a snooty but kind hearted character who was the long suffering wife of snobby Paul Collins. She lost her couragous battle with cancer on April 8th 1990 and like the true professional that she was worked right up until her illness took hold.
